Google Ads fees explained: what goes to Google, and what comes to us

Running Google Ads through HypnoLeadFlo means two separate payments with two different jobs. Here's where each one goes, who decides the amount, and how to judge whether the whole thing is paying its way.

The short version
  • There are two separate payments: your ad budget is paid directly to Google, and the management fee is paid to HypnoLeadFlo.
  • Your ad budget sits in your own Google Ads account, on your own card, in your own currency. We never handle it and never take a cut of it.
  • The management fee is a flat monthly amount in US dollars. It doesn't rise when your ad budget does. Full figures are on our pricing page.
  • The useful number isn't either cost on its own. It's what the two together bring back in booked clients.

If you run Google Ads with us, you make two separate payments. Your ad budget goes straight to Google, charged to your card from your own Google Ads account. The management fee comes to HypnoLeadFlo for building and running the system around those ads. They're separate on purpose, and you'll always be able to see exactly where every dollar went. Our current fees are all on one page: HypnoLeadFlo pricing.

It's one of the first things people ask me, and it's a good question to ask anyone who manages your ads. Some agencies bundle the two together and take a percentage of whatever you spend. We don't, and I'll explain why below.

The short answer: two payments, two jobs

Your ad budget pays Google to show your practice to people searching for help. The management fee pays us to turn those clicks into booked clients.

Think of the ad budget as the fuel and the management fee as the car. The fuel is what gets you seen. The car is the campaign, the landing pages, the follow-up and the tracking that decide what happens after someone clicks. You need both, but they do different things and they're paid to different people.

Where your ad budget goes

Your ad budget is paid directly to Google from your own Google Ads account, on your own card. It never passes through us.

When we set you up, your practice gets its own Google Ads account. Your card goes into that account's billing settings, and Google charges it as the ads run, in your own currency. Google sends you its own invoices and receipts, so your accountant sees exactly what was spent on advertising, line by line, straight from the source.

You decide the amount, as a daily budget. New hypnotherapy accounts start at $25 a day in your currency unless you'd like something different, which caps a full month at about $760. Google is allowed to spend more than the daily figure on a busy day, but it evens out and won't go over the monthly cap. If you ever see a day that looks high, here's why that happens.

I like it this way. It's your money and your account, so you should be able to see it without asking me.

What the management fee pays for

The management fee pays for everything that happens around the ad: the campaign build, your landing pages, the CRM, the follow-up, the tracking and the ongoing work to improve it.

A click on its own isn't worth much. Someone searching "does hypnotherapy work for anxiety" at 10pm is curious and a bit unsure. What turns that person into a client is a page that answers their question, a quick and friendly follow-up, an easy way to book, and a reminder so they actually turn up. That's the part the fee covers, and it's where most of the result is won or lost.

It includes:

The fee is a one-time setup, then a flat monthly amount. It's laid out plainly here: see our pricing.

Why we don't take a percentage of your ad spend

Our fee is flat, so it doesn't go up when your ad budget does. That keeps our advice about your budget honest.

A lot of agencies charge a percentage of ad spend, often with the spend running through their own billing. It sounds tidy, but it means the agency earns more every time you spend more. I'd rather not be in that position. When I suggest raising a budget, it's because the numbers say more consults are there to be had, and when I suggest holding it, I lose nothing by saying so.

It also means there's nothing hidden. Google's invoice shows what Google charged. Our invoice shows what we charged. Nothing is marked up in between.

The number worth watching

Neither cost means much on its own. The useful question is what the ad budget and the fee together bring back in booked clients.

It's easy to look at a monthly ad bill and a management fee and add them up as an expense. I'd look at them as one investment, then judge it on what comes back the other side. That's why we feed each client's sale values back into Google Ads, so the campaign learns which searches turn into paying clients, not just enquiries.

To give you a feel for it, one Canadian practice we run spent CAD $4,471 on Google Ads from June to September 2026 and booked CAD $48,235 in client revenue over the same four months. A Newcastle practice in the UK spent £433 in September 2026 and booked 8 consultations, about £54 each. Results vary by area, competition and how consults are handled, and a new account takes a few months to settle. Mark Carter, a UK hypnotherapist, put his own experience this way: "I've gone from earning £80 a month to between three and six thousand pounds."

That's the lens I'd use. Not "how much is this costing me?" but "how many clients is it bringing in, and what are they worth to my practice?" If you'd like the maths on that, here's how I work out what Google Ads costs per client.

How it works when you start

You pay the setup fee to us, we build and test everything, your card goes into your Google Ads account, and your ads go live.

  1. Setup fee to HypnoLeadFlo. One payment, and we start building straight away.
  2. Your Google Ads account. We create it for your practice, or connect the one you already have.
  3. Your card into Google's billing. This is the bit that makes the ad budget yours. Google charges it directly.
  4. Your daily budget. We start at $25 a day in your currency unless you'd like something different, and adjust once we can see what a booked consult costs in your area.
  5. Go live, then the monthly fee. Your ads start running, enquiries come into your CRM, and the monthly management fee begins.

From there, you'll get a Google invoice for the ads and a HypnoLeadFlo invoice for the management, and you'll always know which is which.

Where to from here

If you'd like the full figures, they're all on our pricing page. And because we only take one practice per area, the simplest next step is to check whether yours is still free. If it is, I'm happy to talk it through with you.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Google Ads budget included in the HypnoLeadFlo fee?

No. Your ad budget is separate and paid directly to Google from your own Google Ads account. The HypnoLeadFlo fee covers the campaign, pages, CRM, follow-up, tracking and ongoing management.

Do I pay Google or HypnoLeadFlo for the ads?

You pay Google for the ads. Your card sits in your own Google Ads account and Google charges it directly as the ads run. HypnoLeadFlo never handles your ad budget.

Do you take a percentage of my ad spend?

No. The management fee is a flat monthly amount, so it doesn't change when your ad budget goes up or down.

What currency are the fees in?

Your ad budget is charged by Google in your own currency. The HypnoLeadFlo fee is in US dollars, the same in every country we work in.

How much should my Google Ads budget be?

New hypnotherapy accounts start at $25 a day in your own currency unless you'd like something different, which caps a full month at about $760. We adjust it once we can see what a booked consult costs in your area.

What happens to my ad budget if I stop?

If the ads are paused, Google stops charging. There's no lock-in on the management fee either, so you can cancel any time.
