- A long-running Australian account we manage books calls at around AUD $130 each.
- Australian cities are spread out, so the area and travel time matter more than the radius.
- Most bookings come from people searching their problem and what they've already tried, not "hypnotherapist near me".
- We're based on the Gold Coast. Our fee is in US dollars and your ad budget is paid to Google in Australian dollars.
Google Ads works for Australian hypnotherapists when the area matches how far clients will really travel, follow-up is instant, and the account is judged on booked calls and clients rather than clicks. A long-running Australian account we manage books calls at around AUD $130 each.
I'm based on the Gold Coast and I've run Google Ads for hypnotherapists only for over 12 years. Australia is where this started. This page covers the Australian numbers I can share, how we set campaigns up here, and an Australian client talking about her practice.
What Australian hypnotherapists get from Google Ads
Our clearest Australian figure: a long-running account we manage books calls at around AUD $130 each.
| Practice | Period | Ad budget | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Long-running account, Australia | Ongoing | Not shown | Around AUD $130 per booked call |
Cost per booked call is ad spend divided by calls booked over the same period. It's one real account, not a typical or guaranteed result. What a booked call is worth to you depends on your fees and how many become clients, which the cost guide helps you work out.
Long-running accounts tend to settle at steadier numbers than new ones, because Google has had years of booking data to learn from. A new account won't start there. That's normal.
What's different about running ads in Australia
Australian cities are spread out and suburbs are big, so a good campaign is built around realistic travel time, not a neat circle on a map.
- Area by travel time. Twenty kilometres can be a short drive in one direction and an hour in traffic in another. We set your area around the suburbs and towns people will actually come from, and add online sessions if you offer them.
- Presence-only targeting. Google's default also shows ads to people "interested in" your area. We switch that off, so you pay for people physically in or regularly in your area.
- Time zones. Follow-up texts and reminders go out in your own state's daytime hours, whether you're in Perth or Brisbane.
- One practice per area. We check every other client's live targeting before setting yours, so two of our clients are never bidding on the same person.
I only take one hypnotherapist per area, so the first step is checking yours is still free. Takes two minutes.
See if my area is freeWhat Australians search before they book
Most people who book anxiety hypnotherapy don't search "hypnotherapist near me". They search their problem and what they've already tried, like CBT, counselling or medication.
Across 12 live anxiety-hypnotherapy accounts over the 12 months to 21 September 2026, the biggest group of bookers had searched about therapy or medication they'd already tried. The next biggest searched for something permanent, like "how to permanently stop overthinking".
Cost questions come up a lot too, such as "how much is hypnotherapy". Put your fees, or at least a clear starting price, on the page. The full breakdown is in what people search before booking anxiety hypnotherapy.
How we set up Google Ads for an Australian practice
The method is the same in every country. For Australia, what changes is how the area is drawn and the local wording on your pages.
| Part of the system | How we run it in Australia |
|---|---|
| Campaign structure | One campaign or ad group per issue you treat (anxiety, panic, phobias, sleep and so on), each with its own page |
| Keywords | Phrase and exact match first. Searches that book get promoted to exact. Broad match only once the account has booking data |
| Location | Presence-only: people physically in or regularly in your area, never Google's default "interest" setting |
| Negatives | A base list of 800+ negative keywords from day one, then a weekly search-term review |
| Bidding | Optimise for booked consults first, then for the revenue each client brings in, fed back from your booking records |
| Follow-up | Instant text and email with a booking link, then reminders, sent inside sensible local hours |
Your ad budget is billed by Google in Australian dollars. Our fee is the same USD amount in every country, with no GST added.
Setting it up, step by step
An Australian build goes from area check to launch in six steps, and you only need to do a few of them yourself.
- Check your area is free. We only work with one practice per area, so the first step is making sure nobody we already work with is targeting your patch.
- Build the pages. A fast page for each issue you treat, written to match what people actually search, with your photo, your reviews and a booking calendar.
- Build the campaign. One campaign per issue, phrase and exact match keywords, presence-only location targeting and the base negative list.
- Connect the follow-up and tracking. Every enquiry lands in your CRM, gets an instant text and email, and is tracked back to the search that brought it in.
- Test it end to end. One real test enquiry before launch, checked in the CRM and in Google Ads.
- Launch and review weekly. Search terms reviewed every week, converting searches promoted, waste blocked, and booked revenue fed back so bidding learns.
The first three months are the slow part. Enquiries usually start early, but the account needs that long to learn which searches become paying clients in your area.
An Australian client in her own words
Monika runs HypnoLab and has worked with us for about five years.
Before that she was going to networking groups, running Facebook groups and events, and seeing clients on top. She talks about getting her time back to focus on her clients.
"I was exhausted trying everything to get leads. Now I have my time back to focus on clients."
That's her experience, not a promise. Results depend on your area, your fees and your follow-up.
Is your Australian area free?
We work with one hypnotherapy practice per area in Australia, so the first step is checking yours isn't taken.
If it's free, we'll talk through your area, your fees and a starting budget. If it's taken, I'll tell you straight away. Have a look below.
Frequently asked questions
How much do Google Ads cost for a hypnotherapist in Australia?
You set the budget and pay per click. A long-running Australian account we manage books calls at around AUD $130 each. That's one real account, not a guarantee, and results vary by area and follow-up.
Are you based in Australia?
Yes. HypnoLeadFlo is run by James Brine from the Gold Coast, and we work with hypnotherapists across Australia, the UK, the US and Canada.
Can I target my whole city?
Sometimes, but usually not. Australian cities are spread out, so we set your area around where clients will realistically travel from, and never overlap another client's area.
Do you charge in Australian dollars?
Our fee is in US dollars and is the same in every country: USD $550 setup, then USD $400 a month for a three-month pilot and USD $600 a month after that. Your ad budget is separate and is paid straight to Google in your own currency.
How long does Google Ads take to work for a hypnotherapist in Australia?
Enquiries usually start in the first weeks, but the account takes around three months to learn which searches turn into paying clients in your area. That's why the first three months are a pilot.
Do I need a lock-in contract?
No. There's no lock-in contract. The three-month pilot is there because that's how long the account needs to learn, not to tie you in.
